I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Judy.  She was such a dear friend even though we lost contact in the last few years.  I will always remember her as being kind and always there if I needed her.   Last time I talked to her, she told me of her sickness and mentioned she was confined to a wheelchair.  It broke my heart because we shared a lot of days going out to lunch or dinner.

I will always remember her as having perfect hair and makeup all the time.

I should have told someone that I wanted to say a few words about my Aunt Judy.  When we stood up, at the end of the service, I was surprised that it was over.  It was supposed to go like this:
I wasn't sure if I was going to say something today, but I can imagine Judy saying, "You better get your butt up there and say something nice about me".  To me, Judy was the perfect blend of part feistiness & mostly a loving, caring person.  We saw eye to eye on most things, including political issues.  Years ago, Judy started sending funny and political emails to me.  I would share the better ones with my best friend at work.  I had told him about Judy and how cool she was.  Not long ago, I showed him one and he was laughing.  He said, "Did your cool aunt send you this"?  I said, "Oh yeah."  Judy loved her family so much.  I haven't been around Brittyn and Adayre much, but I feel like I have watched them grow up in the pictures she sent.  She was proud of all of her family, but she was all about those granddaughters.  And now, after having two granddaughters of my own, I get it.  Judy and my wife, Tina, emailed each other all the time.  They talked about anything and everything.  If Tina had some issue going on, I would, of course, offer my advice or opinion on the issue; we all know how that went.  She would say, "I need to ask Judy."  Judy didn't sugarcoat anything.  She wasn't going to pat you on the head and say everything is going to be ok; she told it like it was.  Sometimes she would tell Tina that she would have to think about it and get back to her the next day.  She would then say, "This might not be what you wanted to hear...."  but that's the way she saw it.  On the few occasions that Tina & Judy didn't see things the same way, neither of them was going to give in.  Judy would say, "I guess we will just have to agree to disagree".  Tina valued Judy's opinion more than anyone's.  She was a very special lady, and we were all blessed to have known "my cool aunt."

I met Aunt Judy when I married her nephew Kevin. Even though we have been away from the area since 1992; Judy and I have been constant email buddies. Although there were many miles between us, we were always close in heart. Judy was not only my aunt, she was a woman that I looked up to……for her strength and toughness, and also for the unconditional love she gave. She was the one I talked to about everything. I would need her advice and opinion many, many times through the years. Sometimes we would just need to vent to each other.  We would encourage each other. We would share family news and family pics.  I remember her saying even though she never got to meet my granddaughters she felt like she knew them through our emails. She was always there for me. I could always count on her to get back to me. I am so grateful and blessed to have had her in my life. I will miss her dearly.  Tina

I met Judy when our daughters were in the second grade (now 50 years old) together.  She became a very special friend all those years.  Both of our families took trips together, celebrated fun Halloweens at her house, snow days and many more wonderful memories.  My friend will be missed, but know she is reunited and celebrating in Heaven with her parents and Gary.
