Mrs. King was born on Tuesday, the 17th of May, 1932 in Newton, NC a daughter of the late Thomas Dwight Taylor and Johnsie Alice Campbell Taylor. She was attended Berryhill High School and finished her education at Central Piedmont Community College. Most all of her adult life she was extremely active in the Church. First at Wilmont Baptist Church where she started and was member of the Senior Ministry cooked in the cafeteria and taught church preschool. After Wiilmont Church closed she became an active member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. Juanita was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother and also taught preschool at Little Peoples Day School.
The King family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, the 21st of October, 2023 in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Service. A Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at the Mausoleum prior to her entombment.
“Ma Maw”, as she was affectionately known, is survived by her son, Donald King and wife, Jean; a daughter, Sally King Kiker both of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Doris Apple and brother, Thomas Taylor and wife, Margaret of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons: Jack Thomas King and James Benjamin King and a sister, Frances McGarr and son-in-law, Jimmy Kiker.
