He was born April 21, 1936, in Havana, Cuba. He moved his family to the United States in 1980 to give his son and daughter a better future. He was married to his loving wife, Haydee, for 47½ years. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he loved his family and he especially loved to spoil his two granddaughters. Juan was a very hard working man who worked in construction while in Cuba. When he came to the United States, he worked for Charlotte Trimming Company where he retired ten years ago. He loved baseball and was a big New York Yankees fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Juan is survived by his wife, Haydee; son, JC Monzote; daughter, Ana Fisher; two granddaughters, Heather Monzote and Ashley Fisher; one brother, Raidel; many nieces and nephews; mother in law; and two brothers in law.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6328 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 with a visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held in Sharon Memorial Park Columbarium. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 6000 Fairview Rd # 648, Charlotte, NC 28210.
