Phil is survived by his wife Linda Hunter Phillips; daughter Jodi Melissa Phillips; son Joseph Grady Phillips, Jr; sisters Angie Wiley and Bobbie (Wayne) Furr and eight grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Michelle Phillips and parents Cloyce and Bobbie Long Phillips.
Phil was born on July 5, 1942 in Greensboro, NC to Cloyce and Bobbie Phillips. He graduated from a private military school in Gainesville, FL. He proudly served in the US Army. He worked in the car sales and leasing business.
Phil was a devoted and loving husband and my best friend. He was an amazing father and worshiped his children and grandchildren.
He loved God and golf. Phil was the love of my life and always will be.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 4pm at the McEwen Funeral Chapel located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. A visitation and reception will follow from 5-8pm. Wayne Furr will officiate.
