Faithful servant Joseph A. Lemmond departed this life July 11, 2014. He was born in Lancaster County, SC on August 31, 1919. Mr. Lemmond was a member of Kilgo United Methodist Church, Wesleyan Sunday School Class, served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry with 45 years of service. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P. M. Monday July 14, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel 5716 Monroe Rd. Charlotte, NC with a service to follow at 2:00 P. M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his son Donald E. Lemmond in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Ruby T. Lemmond, daughter, Shirley L. Ray ( Ricky), three grandchildren, Kim Mikeska ( Brent), Tony Lemmond all of Plano, TX and Richard Ray of Greenville, SC, two great grandchildren, Kinsey and Matthew Mikeska, a brother Jim and sister Martha. The family wishes to give special thanks to Doctors Marshall McMillan and Stuart Garner, Donald Kamerer, Daniel Watson, and Edward McMillan for the exceptional health care over the past 17 Years. Special thanks also to Presbyterian Hospice and the Harris Hospice Unit for their services.
