Mr. Babinski was raised in Queens, NY and attended Xavier HS before receiving a BS from Fordham University and postgraduate studies at NYU School of Business.
Joe was known for his love of family, country and church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara Babinski, his 6 children: Susan, Joe, John, Pete, Paul and Bill, 3 daughters-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister, Helen Doucette.
After graduating college, Joe was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. He went on to serve in the NY Air National Guard rising to the rank of Major and amassing almost 4,000 flying hours. He also worked for 31 years in various capacities at AT&T before retiring.
A lifelong faithful Catholic, Mr. Babinski was always active in his church and the Knights of Columbus, achieving a rank of 4th Degree Knight.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Luke Catholic Church with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. A private family inurnment will be held following the service.
