Jorge Ramirez

Jorge, 75, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. He was in the company of his loving family and in the devoted care of hospice.

Born October 14, 1949 in Chepén, La Libertad, Perú. He was a son of Virgilio Ramirez and Rosa Vásquez. His career as salesman started in 1966 with his brother Wilfredo. Years later he opened his own shoes store named Zapatería Feria. In 1992 he moved with his family to New York City and to Charlotte in 2007.

The joy of Jorge’s life was his family. He adored his wife, Miriam Ramirez whom he married May 28, 1974. He was also a devoted father and grandfather who attended all school and sports activities, cheering fiercely at every event.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Miriam; three children, Jorge (passed), Rolando, and Aldo; and three beloved grandchildren, Ariana, Isabella and Stella.

He was preceded in death by his daughter in law Isabel Ramirez.

A service to celebrate Jorge’s life will be held at 5:00p.m. Thursday, April 10th in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. The family will receive friends following the service. The interment will be in York Memorial Park.
