John Dudley Wellman (84) passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1934 to the late Paul and Evelyn Leatherwood Wellman in Gastonia, NC. Dudley attended Gastonia High School, graduating in 1952 before attending The Citidel. He was very proud to have served in the US Marine Corps from 1957-1959. Dudley retired from Bell South after a long career.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Lambert Wellman, sons Steve and Scot (Sherri) Wellman of Charlotte, NC and grandchildren Bayli Wellman, Kelsey Wellman and Zachary Wellman of Charlotte, NC.
