John Allen Smith, 82, of Charlotte, N.C. completed his journey here on earth on August 14, 2021. He is now with God in eternal bliss. Born in Woodruff, S.C. on September 6, 1938 to the late John and Lily Smith, he lived a full life as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Allen was very active in his church and community as an usher, volunteer at Room at the Inn, a dedicated Boy Scout leader and many other volunteer roles at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church.
Allen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Shidal Smith, one son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Christine Smith and two grandsons Dillon and Justin Smith. He is also survived by his sister Linda Smith Garrett (Walter) and two nieces Susan Palmer (Les) and Tricia Waters (Travis) and two great nieces and one great nephew.
