John J. “Jack” Riley,84, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born August 3, 1933 in Dorchester, MA, son of Madeline and Joseph Riley. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and friend.
He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Lee Riley. He is survived by his brother Colonel Joseph Riley; his children son, Father John Riley; his daughter, Mary Riley-Childs (Jeff); son, Michael Riley; daughter, Theresa Riley; and son Daniel Riley (Kristal). He also leaves seven grandchildren: Riley, Patrick, Catherine, Sean, James, Conor and Katie.
Jack graduated from Seton Hall University in 1955. He served in the US Army as 1st Lieutenant in the Korean War. He was selected to play in the US Olympics for the 1956 Baseball Team in Melbourne, Australia and was awarded a Bronze Medal.
He spent the majority of his career with Armstrong World Industries. His career brought Jack and his family to the Carolinas where he ended his career as the President of Karastan- Bigelow.
Jack was a man of integrity and faith. The way he lived his life set an example for all who were blessed to know him. God Love and Bless you.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Monday, November 13th at 10:30 AM. At St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
