John Franklin Rainey

John Franklin Rainey, Jr., 23, of Charlotte, passed away on January 18, 2014 in Norfolk, VA. He was born in Rock Hill, SC on December 31, 1990. John was a graduate of Providence High School. He served 4 years in the US Navy as Fire Controlman 3rd Class Petty Officer stationed in Norfolk, VA. His favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends.

John is predeceased by his father, John Rainey; aunt, Sheila Sanders, and uncle, Ben Huff. He is survived by mother, Lisa Rainey; sisters, Amber Rainey Carroll and Kayla Rainey; grandparents, Lillian Jean Earle, Martha Currie, and Marty Huff; great-grandmother, Lillian Hinson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces in the Rainey and Huff families.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 28 from 6 – 8 pm at McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday January 29 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte followed by interment at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
