John Thomas Lutz

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, with interment to follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

John was born November 11, 1942, in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Garland Eugene and Julia Fisher Lutz. He graduated from Garinger High School and was a Postal Clerk with the United States Post Office. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, driving his John Deer Tractor and spending time with family especially his beautiful grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lutz was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Culler Lutz; brothers, Howard, Billy, Bobby and Joe Lutz and his sister, Betty Jean Lutz. He is survived by his son, John Timothy Lutz of Monroe; daughters, Tracy Lutz Michael and husband Larry of Raleigh, Jennifer Lutz Presley and husband Wayne of Albemarle; grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Michael, Hannah Presley, Madison Lanham; sister, Margaret Jackson of Lancaster, SC; and sisters-in-law, Mandy Tarleton of Waxhaw, NC and Penny Bangle of Little River, SC.
