John Foster Heniford was born on December 4, 1918, in Loris, SC, to Grant McDuffy Heniford and Nina Rowell Heniford. He was the second child and first son. He had four brothers and two sisters all of who preceded him in death.
He was a Technical Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II from 1939 to 1945. After leaving the Army, he worked for the Farmer’s Cooperative Exchange in North Carolina, managing a number of stores. He finished his working career as head technician in a photo processing plant in Charlotte, NC, and last as a machinist at a company in Charlotte. He married Ruth Price on April 3, 1944.
He is survived by one son, John “Jack” Heniford and wife, Juliette of York, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7407 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte. The Reverend Johnny M. “Trey” Doyle, III, will officiate.
