Joe Lee Morton

Joe Lee Morton, 80, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his family. Joe was born March 27, 1932, in Albemarle, North Carolina, and served in the National Guard. He worked 33 years with the Rexham Corp in Charlotte and was a member of Southview Baptist Church. Besides work and his family life, he enjoyed coaching youth baseball, mentoring kids and teaching roller skating. Joe loved to fish, hunt, play golf and his Atlanta Braves. The Morton family will greet friends 10:00 AM until 12 Noon, Tuesday, September 25th, 2012, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 12 Noon in the Chapel with The Reverend Joe Denson and The Reverend Donnie Preslar officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Morton; son, Jeff Morton and his wife, Jane of New Jersey; and two adopted nephews, Otto Horn and Todd Horn, both of Weddington, NC.
