Joe was born in Charlotte, NC to Eugene and Margaret Cannon on November 3rd, 1949. He attended West Mecklenburg High School and graduated with the class of 1968. He worked locally in the paint industry for many years providing some of the best mixed paint, although colorblind as identified by his children.
Joe’s greatest love was his family and friends. They were his universe and he cherished them with every particle of his being. He worked hard and faithfully in the support of his family and exhibited a selfless nature to those he loved and appreciated. He loved his family dearly and tried his best to instill hardworking values into all his children. Joe always felt his greatest accomplishment in life was his four sons and the lives they live. He loved his wife as much as the day he married her. Joe was a fan of classic cars, football and his “beloved puppies”. If he hadn’t spoken to you recently it’s because of something you did. 😉
Joe is survived by wife Shari Cannon & 4 sons; Tony Cannon (Wife LeAnn Cannon) of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott Cannon of Charlotte, NC, Joe Cannon of Winston-Salem, NC and Chris Cannon (Wife Christine Cannon) of Charlotte, NC. Brother Don Cannon of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren Daniel and Jemma Cannon of Charlotte, NC. Niece Kelly Sides of Troutman, NC. As well as countless others which have gone unnamed, but are no less important.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Home in Pineville, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
