Funeral services for Joan Croft Wells, 80, of Charlotte, NC will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Crofton Christian Church in Crofton, KY with Rev. James W. Wells, Jr. officiating and Hughart & Beard Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Burial will follow in Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton, KY. The family will receive friends at the church, starting at 12:30 PM.
Joan passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at her residence at Carmel Place in Charlotte, NC where she had retired after serving 27 years as an elementary school teacher in Greenville, KY.
Survivors include her son, James W. Wells, Jr. and wife Betty of Jacksonville, AL; daughter, Joanne Marks and husband Michael of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Kimberly Eul, Katherine Brune, and Kyle Rodgers; three great granddaughters, Addyson and Delaney Eul and Hannah Brune; and sister, Bonnez Cates of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her father, James Edmund Croft; mother, Beulah McKnight Croft; and sister, Alice Bowling.
