Dear Susan, Jan, Lorene & LouAnn:  My sincere condolences to you all.  Joan was my sister-in-law for 17 years and continued to be a friend all these years.  She gave me love and support through many many difficult days in the 1970's.  I have so many great  memories of times spent at your house in Charlotte when you girls were children.  I am so grateful to have seen her, your Dad and you all in Texas in 2009.  Joan was like my own sister and I loved her and will miss her.  My love to you all.

Jan and the rest of your lovely family......Ray and I are so very sad to hear of Joan's passing. We had so many wonderful times at our Lake Norman homes....We were not born again Christians during the beginning of our friendship, but Joan and another neighbor, taught us and brought us to the Lord, and to our wonderful church while we all lived at Lake Norman. I use to ask her, "Joan, why do you have to have five Bibles around you...wouldn't one do?" Now, we have 13 Bibles. See what your parents started?  We never stopped loving them, and know that Joan is happy being with her God and Posey in heaven, but they leave such a emptiness in your lives. Your whole family are in our thoughts and prayers. Lou Ann, Lorene, Jan, and Susan, thank you for allowing us to share this evening with your family.  Your mom and your dad were special to us, and we regret that we allowed ourselves to lose contact with all of you.  Because of the hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ, we will meet again.  You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

After looking at the photos you posted of your mother, we can see that you were blessed with a wonderful childhood by a loving mother, who was not afraid to have fun and poke fun at herself.  She was a lovely woman, as are you four women. Hold tight to each other, lean on each other, and love each other fiercely.  You were given the greatest gift in this world -- loving parents. The grief you feel is a reflection of how deeply you were and are loved by her. Those memories will be bittersweet bringing tears of joy and sadness as your heart will ache for the feel of her hand once more in yours, the look she gave you when she was so proud of you, and the sound of her laughter. Girls. It seems only a short time ago your beautiful mother and each of you were visiting your Dad on Elizaabeth Ave, then Randolph Road during a busy day at the office. Your Mom was the backbone for each of you.. I watched each of you grow into beautiful young ladies. The Photo gallery brought back some fond memories of the twenty years spent working for your father Posey and seeing each of you grow up. I want you to know that your mom was a positive influence in my life.  She helped me through some difficult times.  She will be missed.

What a truly beautiful lady and her beauty is reflected in each of her daughters. I feel so fortunate to have met Joan even though briefly.
