Jerry E. Shields Sr.

A native of Spartanburg County, SC, Mr. Shields was born to the late Robert Cecil Shields and Lillian Finch Robarts Shields on January 31, 1934. He was a member of Derita Baptist Church and retired from Delta Unit Rebuilders. Mr. Shields enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising hunting dogs and was a founding member of the Hound Dog Hunt Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Messina Shields.

Mr. Shields is survived by his children, Jerry E. Shields, Jr. and wife Debbie of Mount Pleasant, Beverly Ridenhour and husband Archie, Kim Keziah and Wanda Johnson all of Charlotte; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 12:00pm, Monday, June 27 in the chapel at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Rd., with the Pastor J. Arlen Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10:30am to 12:00pm, Monday at the funeral home.
