Janey Maxine Mode, 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. Born August 29, 1939 in Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Georgie Mae (Melton) Foster. She married Julian Mode on September 15, 1956 in Gaffney, SC.
An avid gardener, Maxine enjoyed canning vegetables grown from her garden. She also enjoyed baking cakes that she would sale to customers, decorating her house, trips to the mountains and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Julian Mode; her son, Rodney (Mitzi) Mode; grandchildren, Justin (Allison) Mode and Jared Mode; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Emerson, Hadley, Hudson and Griffin.
The family would like to thank the staff of VIA Hospice, for the special care given to Maxine, especially the nurses, Brittany and Stephanie. They would also like to thank Holly and Silver for their special care given to the family.
A graveside service for Maxine will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
