Jane C Smith

Jane Chavers Smith passed away on September 16, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in Paw Creek on April 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Wilson Chavers. She was married to the late Craig William Smith, Jr.

Jane retired from Bellsouth after 30 years of service. She was very involved with her church as a Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years. She was also involved with the Worthwhiles at Thrift United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Smith; her son , Craig William Smith, III and wife Donna; two granddaughters which she loved dearly, Taylor Elizabeth Smith (David Luckey), Baileigh Smith Moretz (Tyler) and great granddaughter Caroline Grace Moretz. She is also survived by brothers, Billy G. Chavers and Ned D. Chavers and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21st from 10:00am to 11:00am at Thrift United Methodist Church, 8245 Moores Chapel Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28214 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
