Mr. Brock, age 50, of Fort Mill passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 5, 1962 in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
Don graduated from Olympic High School in 1980 and attended Barber College in Charlotte which started a 16 year career with his father at Carmel Family Barber Shop. He loved life, motor sports, working on his 1974 Camaro, and working in his yard and growing numerous plants and flowers in his yard. He enjoyed NASCAR and watching his favorite drivers, Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson race, any Clemson Basket Ball game, Phillies Baseball game, or Dolphins Football game. A true sportsman by nature and outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed the beach, hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his son, James Donald Brock III; father, James Donald Brock, Sr. (Sue Blackwelder) of Charlotte, NC; mother, Peggy Brock Dillingham of the home; step father, Bill Dillingham; sisters Donna Rigsby and husband Tom of Hickory, NC and Terri Onley and husband Tony of Weddington, NC; nephew, Hunter Rigsby; and nieces, Taylor Rigsby, Morgan Onley and Cassidy Onley.
A celebration of life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, April 14, 2012 at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Pineville Chapel.
