Jacquetta Denise Johnson, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly June 10, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born July 8, 1977 in Charlotte, NC.
She is survived by her parents Jacque Johnson Jr. and Valeria Nivens Johnson of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Sherice Nivens of Charlotte, NC; paternal grandparents, Jacque Johnson, Sr. (Bonnie) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Fannie Lavinia Johnson of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandparents, Viola Chapman Nivens and the late Arnater Nivens of Ruby, SC; boyfriend, Nick Glomb, and a host of beloved extended family and friends.
Jacquetta was a devoted, loving daughter and sibling who lived life to the fullest. She was a brilliant young woman, full of life, and lived with a purpose. She loved traveling the globe, foreign language, reading, spending quality time with her family and friends, and taking part in a variety of activities. “JJ”, as she is known to her loved ones, will be greatly missed.
She was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a minor in French from Wake Forest Baptist University in Winston Salem, NC. Additionally, she received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. Education was important to her, and she greatly appreciated the diversity seen in all things, which made her life experience so spectacular. She enjoyed a successful career with Wells Fargo in their legal department that lasted 6 years until her untimely passing.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2011 McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 with the Dr. Peter M. Wherry. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Sharon Memorial Park.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at McEwen Charlotte Chapel.
