Mrs. Thompson, age 99 of Huntersville, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Olde Knox Commons Nursing Home. She was born October 23, 1912 in Washington County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Albert B. Alexander and Mary James Alexander.
She is preceded in death by Husband, William Thompson; Brothers: Robert Bingham Alexander, Plymouth, NC, Edison Alexander, Norfolk, VA; Sisters: Undine Alexander Graft, Charlotte, NC, Myrtle Alexander White, Plymouth, NC, Leone Alexander Swain, Roper, NC, Nat Alexander Chesson, Roper, NC.
Mrs. Thompson worked for Belk Brothers Department Store in sales. She was a well educated, intelligent woman that loved all kinds of music. Inos had a deep fondness for cats and enjoyed having them around. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Uptown.
Surviving are her nieces, Madelon Haskin and husband Edward of Mooresville, NC, Fran Everton and husband, Billy of Columbia, Mary Leone Asbell and husband Henry of Roper, NC, Lynette Swain Teets and husband Leland of White Post, VA, and Elfreth A. Popov, Athens, GA; nephew, Robert Bingham, Jr. of Redondo, CA; great-nieces, Donna Haskin Creasey and husband Dan of Mooresville, NC and Cheryl Haskin Blair of Buford, GA; great-nephews, Franklin Edward Haskin and wife Julia of Matthews, NC and Russell Wayne Haskin and wife Brenda of Concord, NC; 4 great-great-nieces; 4 great-great-nephews, 7 great-great-great-nieces and 7 great-great-great-nephews, all of which comprised a host of five living generations.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, officiated by Reverend Bob Boggan. Entombment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
