Inez Lyles Jones

Mrs. Jones, 97, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Kannapolis, NC, died April 20, 2011 at Asbury Care Center.

She was born November 22, 1913 in York County, South Carolina, one of six children to the late Julius M. Lyles and Mary Grubbs Lyles. She retired from Highland Mills Park after thirty years of service and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Jones was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis where she was member of the Senior Joy Group. Before moving to the Asbury Care Center she lived with her sister, Sarah Tucker, for several years.

The Jones family will greet friends Friday, April 22, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 pm At McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jones will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 PM with The Reverend Katherine George officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her two sons: Charles R. Jones of Oak Island, NC and Donald E. Jones and wife, Elaine of Clover, SC; two sisters, Lillie L. Barrett of Marietta, GA and Sarah L. Tucker of Matthews, NC; grandchildren: Dana Chress, Kelly Jones, Tonya Dulin-Efird, H. Richard Dulin and L.A. Kelly, 10 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jones; daughter-in-law, Brenda M. Jones; two brothers, Tommy and Penry Lyles and sister, Evelyn Lyles.
