Horace F. Byrum Sr.

Mr. Byrum was born on June 10, 1935, in Waxhaw, North Carolina, to the late Olin S. Byrum, Sr. and Blanche S. Byrum of Waxhaw.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Linda Ardrey Byrum; son Frank Byrum, Jr., his wife Caroline, and their children Amanda and Brice; daughter Lisa Eberts, her husband Earl, and their son Michael; and Horace’s siblings Ruth Winchester, Muriel Yarbrough, and Harold Byrum and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Byrum was preceded in death by his brother Olin S. Byrum, Jr.

Mr. Byrum served in the United States Army from 1957 through 1963. He was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church where he participated in the choir, and served as an MYF counselor and Scout Master. He was also an active member in the Waxhaw Lions’ Club, and served as Treasurer for many years.

A Home Going Service will be held at Harrison United Methodist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 3:00pm. There will be a reception for family and friends in Hammill Hall at the church after the graveside service.
