Hilda G Wilson, 93 years of age, of Stanfield was serenaded by Angels up to the throne. Her sunrise was September 10, 1929 and her sunset was September 9, 2023. She was born in Robbinsville, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Flora Grindstaff, siblings Mary Wilson, Edith Morris, Doris Morton and Joe Grindstaff. She is also preceded by her son, Billy Lee Wilson whom she now has met for the first time and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. What a great reunion day!
Hilda was a faithful follower of Christ and shared the love of Jesus wherever she went. As a Pastors wife, she served right along side of him and made room for many that needed somewhere to rest and eat. She never knew how many to set the table for. She invited family members and even missionaries to stay when they were home on furlough. There was never a lack of love and her arms were always open. Her ministry was far from over when she became a phone counselor at PTL. She now knows how many she impacted while working for the Lord. Great was her reward.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Baker(Mike), Cathy Gordon-Hallman(Bill), 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was blessed and was the glue that held the family together.
A visitation for Hilda will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. A celebration of life will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. A committal service will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262.
