Helen Flowe Tracy

Mrs. Tracy, age 88, who was residing at Regency Retirement Village, Charlotte, NC, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at CMC-Pineville of congestive heart failure. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dale L. Tracy and by parents, Simual A. Flowe and Lou Garmon Flowe as well as by siblings Mary Belle Moore, Ella Short, Paul Flowe, Harold Flowe, Margaret Hemby, Tommy Booth, and Betty Phifer. Her closest friends were her siblings and they told many stories about growing up together on the family farm.

Helen married Dale February 3, 1946, after he returned from World War II in India, China, and Burma. She and Dale resided in his hometown in Illinois for a short while but then returned to Union County where they lived until moving into the Regency.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Mrna Tracy Dibble, 6 grandchildren: Eric Dibble, Stacy Dibble Leighton and her husband Steve, of Charlotte, NC; Paige Dibble Russo from Palm Desert, California; Cameron Dibble, from Charlotte; Morgan Dibble, from Washington, DC; and Andrew Dibble and his wife Chanssee, from Chesapeake, Virginia. She is survived by 5 great grandchildren: Whitney Dibble, Samantha Leighton, Alexandria Dibble, Ian Dibble, Tucker Leighton and twin great-great grandchildren, Shiloh and Hannah. She is also survived by a long time family friend, Deborah Harper.

A committal service will be held in Sharon Memorial Park at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2011 followed by a memorial service at Indian Trail Presbyterian Church at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 16, conducted by Reverend Doctor James Johns and Reverend Doctor Matthew Brown.

The family will receive friends directly following the memorial service in the church annex.The pall bearers will be Ted Flowe, Scott Wells, Tim Hemby, Cameron Dibble, Morgan Dibble, and Eric Dibble.
