I extend my sincerest condolences to Harvey's wife and family. Harvey was a friend and business partner from the early 1970's until he left Rochester for Landauer Associates in 1981. Together with myself and John Travis, Harvey was instrumental in forming Midland Appraisal Associates, Inc. which was incorporated on May 1,1975. As we approach our 40th anniversary in May, I will fondly remember Harvey's contributions to the real estate appraisal profession and our partnership in the early years of Midland Appraisal Associates.

Harv was kind to strangers when my wife and I were buying our town home in SVP. He offered insight into the neighborhood and a warm welcome. He remained helpful to us over the years since. I'm sorry for your loss.

Our condolences to Louise and the Jeffers family. I worked with Harv from 1965-1972 at Pomeroy Appraisal Associates in Syracuse. Even though Harv moved to Rochester, New York City, Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC, we never lost contact. We worked together on several projects during the 1980's-2000's. I saw Harv several times at the Mecklenburg County Board of Equalization and Review where he was a member. Barbi and I have had several meals with Harv and Louise in the past several years. We visited Harv in a rehab center several months ago and we usually talked several times a month. Harv was an outstanding role model for many, many young appraisers and counselors. He was a true professional. He always asked about Barbi, our 2 sons, their wives and our 2 grand children every time we talked. We will all miss him dearly.

My sincere condolences to the Jeffers family.  Harvey was a leader among Rochester, NY real estate appraisers in the 1970s before he moved on to bigger communities.  Not only was he a member of SREA, but he was our District's Governor on the National Board for about six years.  He was instrumental in getting me involved on the National level of SREA for which I have been forever grateful.  May he rest in peace.

?My condolences to the Jeffers family. Harvey was a legend here in Upstate New York
with his contribution to the real estate appraisal profession during the 1970's and early 1980's.
Also,  he had a national reputation as one of the leading appraisal experts, authors and teachers.
Of course, his family is well aware of all that. I was one of the many people who became
successful in the appraisal field partly due to Harvey. He was a professional inspiration to me
because of his knowledge, energy, wit and charisma. When I met Harvey, he was the instructor of
my first commercial appraisal course at the University of Rochester in 1974. In the next few
years Harvey instructed other courses and seminars I needed and enjoyed. During that time
Harvey gave me valuable advice on my career path. It was an honor and privilege for me to be
chosen to teach a number of commercial appraisal courses with him in the early 1980's. The last
time I saw Harvey was probably 25 years ago when he was working in Charleston, South
Carolina. We had dinner, talked shop and the “old days”. I had some phone conversations after
that but it's been at least a decade since our last conversation. Even though we had little contact
over the last 25 years, hundreds of others like me will always consider Harvey; a friend.
