Mr. Webb, 84, of Charlotte, NC, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center of Charlotte.
He was born April 23, 1928 in Charlotte, NC, the son of Harrison F. Webb, Sr. and Hixie McCoy Webb. Harry graduated from Central High School and upon finishing his education he went to work for Duke Power Co. After a short time, he enlisted in the US Navy, during the Korean War. Harry served aboard the U.S.S. Carpenter and operated a Gyro Compass. He also served aboard the O’Banner, and returned to Duke Power after the war to work. He was a member of the American Legion Post 235 of Matthews, NC.
In June of 1964 he married Mary E. McLeod. Harry was a charter member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church on Sardis Road.
The Webb family will greet friends Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Webb will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Chaplain Keith Tinkham, American Legion Post 235, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Mary E. Webb; a god-daughter, Robin Rierson Strader of Juneau, AK several nieces and nephews and many, many cousins.
