He was the son of the late Harrell C. and Eva Mae Morrison Jones. Harrell was born and grew up in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He graduated from West charlotte High School and served in the US Army. He retired from Harris Teeter where he was a truck driver and later joined Raven Trucking Company as a driver where he was currently employed.
those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Thomasena Roseboro Jones; daughters, Yolanda Jones, Tamela Carrington and Rashanda Broadway; son, Curtis Withers and step-daughter, Oterious Roseboro; sisters, Diann McClain and Delores J. Hoover and husband, Ziggy; 12 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
