Gloria Hood Marsh

Born to Lillie Mae Allen Hood and Luther Morris Hood on November 21, 1935, Gloria was raised in Charlotte. She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and continued her studies at Montreat College and UNCC. She taught at Oakhurst Elementary School for fifteen years.

Gloria was a long time member of Craig Avenue ARP and most recently First Presbyterian Church in Stanley.

To know her was to love her, a life so wonderfully lived will be wonderfully remembered. We will miss you Mammaw!

Left to mourn her loss are children Ken (Janet) Marsh of Concord, Wesley (Julie) Marsh of Mount Holly and LeAnn (Cliff) Carter of Stanley; grandchildren David (Rosa) Marsh of Belmont and their children Lily and Charlotte; Paul (April) Marsh of Denver and their children Holden and Dawson, Amanda Marsh of Mount Holly, Karen Wolf and daughter Kinley of Belmont, Sara (Cody) Gibson of Stanley and their son Jacob, Sydney (Dominick) Rubino of Havelock and Noah Marsh of Concord.

The family will greet friends at 10am on Tuesday, September 6 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte with funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park.
