My son and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of Glenn's great friends for their heartfelt messages.  I'm very moved that so many of you made it to the memorial service, which was wonderful and the way Glenn would have wanted it to be. The flowers and plants are all so lovely, and thank-you notes will be forthcoming in the near future.

It's going to be a tough Thanksgiving and holiday season without my brother.  I miss him more each day that passes.  Love ya Bro!    Kate

Glen was a dear friend of mine. He was a great person. I worked with Glen at Ranch House. He will always be in my heart with great memories. Our prayers are with the family.

Glenn was a wonderful person and very kind-hearted.  He was good to my mom (Charlene Nesbitt) and to the Ranch House family.  I'm grateful to have known such a wonderful man and a great boss.  I pray for his friends, family and loved ones.

Glenn, or "Glenny", as he was known to me, was for the majority of my childhood the main father figure in my life.  He was like my dad for 10 years and during that time he made an impact on my life words could never fully describe.  He always kept up with school, my grades, my social life, sports- all the things a father should know about his daughter.  Every holiday-whether it be Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, or birthdays were always extra special to me because of him.  Even on Valentines day he would do something lovely for me and my sisters.  I thank Glenn for all of the little things he did, such as giving me hugs, kisses, love, and advice on a daily basis; for those actually turned out to be the big things.  I remember being thrilled to go in the Ranch House and visit him and everyone there while he was working when I was little. One thing I know; he made the best filet mignon I have ever tasted! Although we have been estranged for around 5 years now, I realize he played a major role in making me the person I am today.   It was a privilege having Glenn as a father in my life.  My heart aches from his loss.  Thank you Glenny, for being my dad when I needed one most.  I only wish I could have seen you again and told you in person before such an untimely death.  I will always love you and never forget all of the things you did for me. I will forever cherish our memories together.  Rest in peace, I know I will see you again one day.

I met Glenn several years ago when Rhonda and Glenn started dating, but I really came to know Glenn when he came to work at the Central Office for Gaston County Schools.  He was a wonderful, caring, kind, and generous person.  He always had a smile and was willing to help when I needed something. I was happy that Rhonda and Glenn found each other, but more saddened when I heard that their relationship had recently ended.  Glenn will be missed!  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends; but my heart goes out especially to Rhonda who I know loved him and will deeply miss him.

Glenn was a father figure to my three daughters during some very formative and difficult years. He always provided for them and took the time to help with a school project, watch a movie or take them shopping. Every year, he made the holidays very special. Glenn had a  very generous heart. David Glenn Wilson, known loving to us all as Glenn, was born to Ruth and William Wilson on October 18, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia.  Glenn was a loving brother and great and loyal friend to many, and we will all feel the deep sorrow of his loss.

Glenn's spirit and his constant desire to help others is the distinguishing mark of his character, and for this he will be lovingly remembered.  He was quick to smile, possessed an amazing sense of humor, and was kind a compassionate.  Words can only barely begin to describe this wonderful man.

Glenn and I grew up in Norfolk and moved to Virginia Beach in 1960.  Glenn attended Kings Grant Elementary and Frank W. Cox High School.  We always talked about the fact that we had a wonderful childhood, and shared so many happy memories every time we were together.  The only unhappy memory we shared was having to eat our mother's horrible cooking!  So it should not be a surprise that we both turned out to be pretty good cooks!!  Out of necessity for sure!!

We lost our mom in 1974, and our father in 1986, so we always called ourselves "the last of the Mohicans".  Our bond was as strong as any siblings have ever shared and our love for each other was limitless.

Glenn relocated to Charlotte, NC over 25 years ago, where he assumed the role of Operator/Manager for our aunt Kathryn's Ranch House Restaurant on Wilkinson Boulevard.  The Ranch House was a local institution for many years, and Glenn took great pride in ensuring the best steaks in town.  More recently, Glenn was an integral part of the Gaston County Schools Nutrition Program.

Glenn was an amazing uncle to my son, Nicholas, and the two of them were so very close.  Nicholas currently lives in Amsterdam, and he's on his way home now to be here to honor Glenn.  Glenn was a total animal lover, and his beloved golden retriever, Maggie, is feeling the immense loss of her daddy.  I have Maggie's brother and father goldens (Trooper and Red), and even in this time of sorrow, we are so happy to welcome her to our family, where she will be loved and cared for, and serve as a constant and wonderful daily reminder of our family's love for one another.  Red and Troop are delighted to have the family reunited, and "Mags" loves playing ball (endlessly!) with Trooper.

Glenn was the best brother anyone could ask for, and a caring and loving friend to all who had the opportunity to know him.  I will miss my brother so very much, but know that his heart and spirit will always be with me!  I love you Glenn!!  Sis

Words cannot even begin to express my overwheming sadness for the loss Glenn.  He was a sweet and loving brother, and a fantastic uncle to my son, Nick.  He was kind to all, quick to smile, ever ready to help anyone in need.  He was loving and thoughtful, funny and sweet, and I will miss him forever.  He is now with our mom and dad in the house of the Lord, and I know in my heart he is at peace.  Love you baby bro!!  Sis

Glenn was my brother-in-law for a while and my daughter also worked for him at the Ranch House for several years.  Glenn always held a special place in my heart.  We spent many a Fourth of July at the Lake and Holiday's together.  Glenn could always put a smile on my face!  Thanks for the memories old friend and may you find peace in Heaven.

Glenn was a special man who had a way with people.  We shared some great memories with Glenn that always revolved around good food and good times.  He kept the Ranch House "the place to be" for many years and it was an honor to be a part of that.  We will have a special place in our hearts for Glenn always.

What a shock to hear this! Working at the Ranch House with Glen was a wonderful experience- there was never a more kind hearted and charming person, ever! He knew how to treat people, and he was always there with a ready smile.  He will be sorely missed by those who loved him and who were fortunate to share time with him. Even though I was only able to work with Glenn a short amount of time, I am certain that he was one of the happiest people that I have ever came in contact with. He was a very hard worker and strived to make everyday better than the last. Glenn was just an all around great guy. He will surely be missed here at School Nutrition.

Glenn's warm smile, sparkle in his eyes, and abundant kindness to all, was truely a window to his soul that reflected to all those he came in contact with.  My sincere condolences to the family, friends, and his beloved dogs.

What a terrible loss. I was just getting to know Glenn and his great sense of humor. He always looked forward to everyday and enjoying his beloved dog, Maggie. He will truly be missed by so many. Rest in peace Glenn, I will miss you.

Glenn's passing is a great shock and a terrible loss for everyone who knew him. He was such a special person and he will long be remembered fondly and missed greatly by everyone who had the good fortune to have worked with him. He was a wonderful, one of a kind person who made each day better and happier for everyone around him --- he had the amazing ability to lift up your spirits with just a few soft spoken words -- because that was just Glenn's way!  I don't think I ever saw him when he didn't have a great big smile on his face and a few "good words" to pass along to make everyone's day better. I am sure that everyone who was lucky enough to have worked with Glenn received such a blessing just by having known him.  He was a good friend and he will surely be missed!

So sad to hear about my friend passing away. Two words sum up Glen, "Great Guy." Always happy, always there when you needed him and always fun to be around. Glad we got to spend some time fishing and I know you will be catching some big ones in Heaven.  I miss ya buddy.

Glen only worked with School Nutrition a short time but his impact is long-term. He was the perfect match to pull all his co-workers together.  Glen was always in a good mood, he did a wide variety of jobs and was everyone's friend.  There is a quite sad mood hanging over everyone at work today, with all Glen's co-workers pulling together to fill a big hole left by Glen's unexpected passing. My condolences go to his family and friends.

Glenn was such a caring and kind person.  I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face.  He will be greatly missed.

I will always remember Glenn's kind nature and genuine regard for others.  My condolences to his family and many friends.
