Born March 13, 1939 in Lynn, Massachusetts, a son of the late William Wallace Beard and Bernadette Ferreira.
A resident of Charlotte for the past 12 years, George was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority as a bus driver.
His wife, Joan W. Beard, preceded him in death on January 27, 2008.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Barry (Frank) of Revere, MA and Lynne Alves (Michael) of Charlotte, NC; three granddaughters, Nicole Barry, Alicia Barry and Katie Alves; his siblings, John Beard (Susan) of New Hampshire and Bernadette Sordillo of Peabody, MA; and a brother-in-law, Gene Lmbirth (Gay) of Asheville, NC.
