Gary Russell Williams

Gary R. Williams, Age 67, passed away January 7, 2019. He was born on August 29, 1951 to the late William & Ruth Williams in Mecklenburg County, NC. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Lynette; son Randy and wife Kristi; a granddaughter Shelby. Mother in law Jane Carriker (Bill), a brother Bobby, and many loving friends, especially Tommy (Connie) Carlucci and Sam Hopkins (Mary).

Besides helping other people in his spare time he had many awards and achievements such as: Deacon & Member of the Security Team at Clear Creek Baptist Church, serving on the building and grounds committee along with the youth advisory committee. He was the Vice President of the Baptist Men, a Mission Team Leader and a Youth Camp Counselor. Even with his busy life Gary still had time to successfully run GW Transport, a trucking company he created and ran till his recent retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Clear Creek Baptist Church of Mint Hill, with interment to follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm January 9, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC, (704)-545-4864.
