Fulton Greene, a longtime resident of the Charlotte, North Carolina area, passed away on July 23, 2015. Fulton was born on June 27, 1920, and grew up in Union County. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and spent a long career working for Coca-Cola, from which he retired in 1985. Fulton was an active member of Cornelius First Baptist Church, where he often cooked Wednesday night dinner and sang in the choir. He enjoyed gardening (especially growing okra) and golf, was an avid reader, and repaired anything he could get his hands on.
Fulton is survived by his wife of 67 years, Catherine Smith Greene; his brothers, Vance Greene (Grace) and Sammie Greene (Dottie); his children, Larry Fulton Greene (Beverly), Randy Douglas Greene (Lee), and Sue Greene Saylor; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
