Frieda Ruby Story was born October 30, 1912 and passed away on October 17, 2010 in Charlotte, NC. She was born in San Antonio, TX and moved to Washington, DC when she was two years old. Frieda has been a resident of Charlotte, NC where she resided with her daughter Ruby and her family for 27 years. She was an employee of McCrory’s for 47 years in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul B. Story, James F. Tingstrum, Sr., and her son, James F. Tingstrum, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters Joan Schmeidler (James) of Wichita, KS; Lucille Finn (Ron) of Bullhead City, AZ; Ruby Berkemeyer (James), Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law Nancy Tingstrum, brothers Joseph Turner, Scottsdale, AZ and Anton Cohen, Marblehead, Mass.
She was a loving grandmother to 17, great-grandmother to 41, and great-great-grandmother to 28.
Frieda will be deeply missed by all her loving family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 am to noon at Harry and Bryant Co. 500 Providence Rd. Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, on Thursday, October 21 at 2:30pm. Burial will be at 9 AM Tuesday,November 9, 2010 in Arlington Cemetery with her loving husband, Paul B. Story.
