Frederick David Bunton

Frederick "Rick" David Bunton, 67, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born August 10, 1957 in Guilford County, he was the son of Alice Anne (Haley) Bunton and the late Raymond Leroy Bunton.

A veteran of the US Air Force where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent, Rick later graduated from UNC Charlotte, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed with the city of Charlotte at the water department where he retired after 35 years of service.

An avid video gamer, Rick enjoyed playing pool, fishing, going to the beach, hiking in the mountains and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors includes his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Bunton; children, Kelly (Angie) Farmer, Jackson Farmer, Jonathan Farmer and Jason (Karen) King; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Kathy (James) Ng; brother, Thomas (Denise) Bunton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Rick was preceded in death by his son Donald L. King.

A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com
