Franklin was born in Greenville, SC to the late Willie Avery West and Irene Parker. He is the beloved owner of The Rainbow Grill for over 45 years. Willie loved golfing, racing, boating, motorcycles, classic cars, Rv’ing and camping. He enlisted in the United States Army in November 1958 and served honorably until November 1960 as an E-2. He was also a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina.
Mr. West is survived by his loving spouse Martha Hartsell (Becky); sons, Barry West and Franklin D. West, Jr. “Del”; niece, Debbie Hahn; Aunt, Margie; Cousin, Joe; best friend and golfer Eddie Thompson; Best army friend, Rodney Riddle. and his beloved dog who will forever miss him.
Franklin is preceded in death by his wives Julie and Barbara West; son, James Robert West "Robbie"; sister, Mildred Boger; best friends, Leon Crump, Bill Mullius “Big Mo” and John Elliott Mopar, mechanic.
