Born October 22, 1933, in Hickory Grove, SC to parents Frank Preston Ramsey Sr. and Emma Brown Ramsey, he graduated Hickory Grove High School in 1951 and attended Charlotte College. Mr. Ramsey attained the level of Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the Palmetto 289 Masonic Lodge.
Frank loved his work as a District Sales Manager in the utility equipment business where for over 37 years he excelled in cultivating personal relationships. He began this remarkable career with Baker Equipment Engineering Company, continuing with Terex Utilities and most recently, with American Safety Utility Corporation, and The International Lineman’s Museum. He retired at the age of 84.
He enjoyed history, antiques, and working in the yard during his spare time. Frank was loving, caring, and enjoyed telling jokes right up to his death.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bennie Bolin Ramsey; son Eric Preston Ramsey and his wife Alison and their daughter Gwen, of Salida, CO; son Scott Bolin Ramsey and his partner Cemal Akçiçek of Izmir, Turkey. He was preceded in death by his son Steven Douglas Ramsey.
A service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2nd at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. His family will receive friends following the service.
