A native of Lancaster, SC, Mr. Hancock was born on September 13, 1925 and has been a resident of Charlotte for the past 40 years. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Mr. Hancock is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Hancock.
Mr. Hancock is survived by his children, Darrell Hancock and wife Kay of Kingsport, TN, Kathy Haymore and husband Gene of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Erron Hancock and wife Stacey, Katy Hancock and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church, 5315 Highway 49 S, Harrisburg, NC with the Rev. Rody Carland officiating. A private interment will follow the service in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
