Evelyn June Rummage McCorkle

Evelyn was born in Monroe, NC. She attended The Little Church on the Lane. Evelyn enjoyed playing bridge, watching gameshows, Duke basketball, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. McCorkle was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings, and husband Rupert O’Neal McCorkle.

Evelyn is survived by her five children: Susan Ledford of Charlotte, NC, Kyle Turner (Don) of Cumming, GA, Kathy Driver (Paul) of Tallahassee, FL, Kim Nooe (Al) of Waxhaw, NC, and John McCorkle (Tammy) of Stanley, NC; additionally, eleven grandchildren: Dawn Jackson (Steve), Aubrey Ledford, Melissa Turner (Mark), Pauli Wade (Chip), Lesley Ritch (Richard), Tim Gardner (Elizabeth), Dawn DeLucia (Apollo), Kyle Nooe, Gillian Nooe, Derrick McCorkle, Kendall Carver (Chris); and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 20, at The Little Church on the Lane, 522 Moravian Lane, Charlotte with the Rev. Jeff Carter and the Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service.
