Ethel, who was affectionately referred to as "Pudding" loved her family. She was a devoted wife to Jimmy Anderson for more than 40 years. She was also a devoted mother to her 6 children and she raised 5 of her great-grandchildren later in life. But she was considered a beloved grandmother figure to many more. Ethel was well known for her joy of being in the kitchen baking and cooking for her famiy during holidays and special occasions. Her cakes were delicious because she always said they were baked with love. Family time always included her taking her grandchildren for trips to the lake to spend quality time during summers.
Ethel's caring and dependable qualities extended beyond her own family. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years, working with the Methodist Home of Charlotte and The Wesley Care Center caring for the elderly until her retirement.
Ethel had a kind heart and a loving spirit, she will be missed.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Anderson; two daughters, Melvina Reid Easterling, and Sheila Anderson; two sons, Melvin Reid Jr. and Jimmy Anderson Jr.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, hers sons, Marsheen Patterson and Johnny Anderson; four
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins, brother and sister-in-law, neighbors and friends.

A visitation for Ethel will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
