Esther Rice, 75, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. She was born to the late Susie Blackwell and Cedine Odum.
She is survived by her husband Henry Rice of nearly 35 years of the home; one son, David Mansield; daughters, Donna Petrea, Kim Delargy, Shelley Green and Chasity Reid; brother, Buddy Anderson; sister, Lib Anderson; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother James Blackwell.
Esther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
A funeral service to celebrate Esther’s life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park followed by a reception back at the funeral home.
