Ernest Ray Williams, Jr (90) passed away on August 1, 2017. He was the eldest son of the late Ernest Ray Williams and Viola Parsons and born in Elizabeth City, NC. After high school graduation, Ernest proudly served in the US Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Korea. After returning home, Ernest continued to serve as a patrolman with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department for 36 years.
He married the late Julia Lackey and had five children; Randy, Gayle Donahue, Stephen, Carole Dellinger and David; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ernest was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church and loved spending time with his extended family.
Visitation will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. Funeral Service will follow at1:00pm. Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
