Ernest Lee Simpson “Ernie”, 68, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 also at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
Ernie was born October 19, 1944 in Mecklenburg County to the late Mary Alvalona White and Frank M. Simpson. He was a member of Good Sheperd Assembly in Concord. Ernie loved playing pool and enjoyed his time on his Harley. He was a man of his word and a very honest and loyal man.
In addition to his parents Ernie is predeceased by one brother; Jimmy Simpson; two sisters; Helen Simpson Whitesides, Margie Wells; one son Ernest Lee Simpson II. He is survived by his significant other Sandy Brown Beach; three sons; Randy Brown, Brian Medlin and Josh Simpson; two daughters; Shanna Roberts and Nichole Simpson; 9 grandchildren; one brother Frank Simpson.
