Elizabeth Lee Austin Preslar

She was the daughter of Robert Edward Austin, Sr. and Ethel Susan Hanna Austin.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Worth B. Preslar; son, Jeffrey Preslar; daughter, Sheila Forbis (Gary); grandson, Eric Forbis; sisters, Frances Garmon (Brice) of Concord, NC and Evelyn Jackson of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She retired from Edgecomb Metals in 1986.

She volunteered at Carolinas Medical making baby hats for premature babies and was a member of Sew and Sews at University City United Methodist Church. She will always be remembered for her kind and caring nature.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service- Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at University City United Methodist Church, 3835 West W. T. Harris Blvd., Charlotte, NC. Interment will follow the service at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Austin and James Austin and sisters, Margaret Mullis and Mary Jane Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to University City United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St., #303, Charlotte, NC 28202-3247.
