Elizabeth Jenrette Knox

Elizabeth graduated from Charlotte Christian School in 2005 and then attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Charlotte Youth Symphony, Charlotte Civic Orchestra, and Orange County Community Symphony in Costa Mesa, CA. Elizabeth began developing her incredible musical talent at the early age of three, and was an accomplished violinist, pianist, classical guitarist and vocalist. In recent years, she had begun to write her own music. She was also a skilled golfer, due to the many hours she and her father enjoyed together on the Quail Hollow Club course. Elizabeth had a passionate love of animals and volunteered at the Humane Society of Charlotte.

In addition to her father, Charles E. Knox, Sr., Elizabeth was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis Lee Smith; grandparents, Ralph Brevard and Annie Barkley Knox; and sister, Lynn Knox Poole.

Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Montye S. Knox of Charlotte; grandmother, Martha Jenerette Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC; brother, Charles E. Knox, Jr. and wife Colette of Cornelius, NC; sister, Sandy Knox of Huntersville, NC; brother-in-law, Ed Poole of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Caroline Poole of New York, NY, Rebekah Goldman of Huntersville, NC, Chloe Knox and Carley Knox, both of Cornelius, NC; uncles and aunts, Dennis Lee Smith and wife Sherri and Franklin Davis Smith, all of Murrells Inlet, SC, Sally Jo Smith of Atlanta, GA, Lib Knox of Mooresville, NC, L. Ray Knox and wife Frances C. of Davidson, NC, and H. Edward Knox and wife Frances S. of Denver, NC; and numerous cousins in the Smith and Knox families.

A service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth Knox will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19th at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:30-2:15 p.m., at the church.
