

Born November 25, 1930 in Toccoa, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Willie Owen Gilmer and a graduate of Brenau College. Mrs. Deal was a member of Myers Park Country Club as well as Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Stephen Minister, was a member of the Outreach Committee, office volunteer, and served as “point person” for the prayer chain for many years. She also served her community delivering Friendship Trays for over 25 years.
Mrs. Deal is survived by two sons, Bill Deal and his wife, Beverly, of Denver, NC and Bobby Deal and his wife, Debbie, of Flagler Beach, FL; a grandson, Robert Deal and his wife, Hillary; her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Greer Deal; step-granddaughter, Kiley Donnell and husband, Will; and step-great-granddaughters, Arlee and Arden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice D. Deal, and a brother.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Deal’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road, and also at the church following the service. Private interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Daphne Reid, as well as to Cynthia Harris and Home Watch Caregivers for the dedicated care Mrs. Deal received during her illness.
