Elizabeth "Beth" Nesbit Atkins

Born December 24th 1955 in Cramerton NC, she was a daughter of the late Warren Ray Nesbit and Elizabeth Martha Nesbit. She graduated from South Point High school in Belmont NC and furthered her education at Western Carolina. She enjoyed her career as a paralegal but her true joy was being a homemaker. In fact, she frequently adopted many of her children’s friends as her own and it shows through the love of so many.

Beth was a wonderful wife and mother who dedicated everything she had to them. She lost her husband Steve 22 years ago and has been searching for him ever since. The reunion on April 22nd must have been a sight to see. She was a lifelong Christian and had a deep relationship with the Lord.

Beth was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Steve; her parents Ray Nesbit and Martha Nesbit. She is survived by her three children: Blakely and Joel Atkins, Rae and Brian Porter, and Tyler Atkins, all of Charlotte; her two beloved grandchildren: Logan and Bailey Porter; her two brothers: Warren and Sandy Nesbit, and Mark and Tammy Nesbit.

Visitation will be at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville from 6-8 on Monday, April 26th. The service to celebrate Beth’s life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 27th in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. Graveside service will be directly afterwards at Forest Lawn East cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at their residence.
