Mrs. Lipscomb, age 75, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews.
She was born October 17, 1937 in Charlotte, North Carolina the daughter of the late Ward B. Funderburk and Ruth Underwood Funderburk.
Eleanor enjoyed the company of others, loved children and cared deeply about the people in her life whether they were family, friends or neighbors. She enjoyed playing bridge, going to the beach, and listening to Dixieland jazz.
Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Marion Lipscomb; daughters, Lisa Lipscomb Crawford and husband Steve and Amy Lipscomb Blenk and husband Chris; four grandchildren, Stanley Crawford, Amelia Crawford, Madeline Blenk, and Noah Blenk; sister, Merry Lynn Overturf; and nephew, Dondi B. Coggins.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 26, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
